The Death Of Europe In Stereo
the intolerance of all that is
and all that isn’t and all that’s yet
to be decided, the abhorrence
you feel towards me
is the incompatibility
we’re told to ignore,
in your religious books
I’m scaled and burnt like a witch,
my limbs pulled apart like a heretic,
your state of worship rots the skin
of the green pastures we call home,
it’s such a treat to witness
white genocide unfold
in front of my eyes,
and here I am desperate to find
a point of contact, be it eye to eye,
heart to heart or fingers to palm,
the death of Europe in stereo,
the disc-jockey plays a song
in Arabic on Radio 1,
the hand-built bridges
across our rivers topple
as the conflicts unfold,
the towers and battlements
still stand like pioneering bookends
keeping the homeland upright,
everything I thought we’d become
has been eradicated through
an ideology and a Dogma
only the blind can hear,
the world burns around me
and the population
can’t control their fear,
and here I am just wanting
to enjoy my beer in peace
