TDK vs The People

my sister had this handheld 

cassette player with a cool 

pullout handle,

she put her initials

on it using Tippex,

it would regularly chew up

“Now Hits of the 80’s”,

some might say

that wasn’t such a bad thing,

AHA’s ‘Take on Me’

would blast from 

its single mono speaker

followed by 

‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’,

we’d bet monopoly money

on the exact time and date

the tape would meet 

its chewed up fate

 

as the years went by

many albums would die

at the hands of her

psycho tape deck,

all of which

we’d desperately try

to resuscitate

using a biro pen,

there’s nothing more useless

than a cassette with scars,

as the 90’s passed

my sisters cassette player

was taken to trial 

and found guilty of murdering

Metallica

Guns N Roses

Sound Garden

Pearl Jam

and 

Nirvana,

it was a 

pure massacre
