Deliriously Dutiful
crumble,
you took a tumble
down the Grand Canyon
and survived,
dumbfounded
deliriously
dutiful
you’ve been suffering
the scrimmage
you despise
jostling
pushing
pulling
against
a mass produced
state of mind,
rife
repeal
redemption
a little intervention
would suffice,
blind,
confined
intrenched
in a chainmail
disguise
you threw a fist at
uncharted wisdom
with a vision
as bold as brass,
it was ‘street smart’
that saved your ass,
harbour lights
bobbing boats
hope only floats
for so long,
deliriously
dutiful,
the shortest straw’s
been plucked for you,
49 years young
and all you’ve done
is hang on
when letting go
was all
you needed
