Order Of Insects
loosen up
let your jaw flap
react passively
daze the docile
with dramatics,
she’s giving
you the eyes,
she doesn’t
know you’re blind
she’s got praying
mantis vibes,
I’ve got to revise
my posture
before she
bites down
on my head,
I could beat
my wings
or rotate
my legs,
I could
play along,
compose a killer
courtship song,
engage my
animal magnetism,
risk –
sexual cannibalism,
coax her kinship
through acoustic signals
embrace the pitfalls
of mating rituals,
survive until
metamorphosis,
conjugate my
imaginal discs,
naturally hone
my iridescent tint,
DNA structures
etched in my
genetic blueprint
interjects
the
order
of
insects,
and
one day
I will
be king
