Our Evisceration
sitting watching
the world burn backwards
surrounded by upside-downs
smartly dressed clowns
parading in their
Sunday Best
try to paint my nose red
quoting what the
‘good book’ says,
I’m to believe
I’ll burn in hell
if I don’t sign
the dotted line,
sorry ‘Jesus’
I decline ....
the best years are behind us
now I’m just a bored spectator
unamused in an open zoo,
inertias pinning me and you
to the walls of a cyclone
GOD is the smartphone,
call him up any time
he’ll turn your
energy drink
into wine,
the non-thinking hoards
have circuit boards
hanging from their temples,
society now resembles
a downright
fucking shambles,
mass appeal breeds
mass self-interest,
there’s not enough
bandwidth to cope
with the scourge,
the absurd has
slaughtered sense
there is no recompense,
we’re all homeless
building makeshift shelters
in the skid row of our mind
corralled like cattle
through the abattoir
shocked
stunned
and
squeezed
through the rat run,
most can’t feel the hook
they’re hanging from,
they just drag along,
we’re really no different
to the meat we eat,
the only mechanism
making us complete
is the cerebral cortex,
with this removed
we’re not complex,
the human race
is a waste of space,
we’re being culled
and it’s a global operation
fully conscious during
our Evisceration
