Fear

you’re being abused

and you have no clue,

                                      we don’t have free will,

                                      you with words, 

                                      inept craftsman 

                                      can’t construct a future 

                                      without shackles, 

                                      the locksmiths among us

                                      try to pick the restraint 

                                      FEAR secures in place

                                      it’s a one-legged race

 

the locks are unbreakable 

FEAR is unmistakable

it’s the monster in your closet 

the demon under the bed,

the voices in your head 

telling you you’re 

worth nothing,

when you understand 

FEAR is bluffing

its limitations will fall away
