Never Lived
There's a map in my face
but you’ll never see it,
there's a prediction on my palms
but you’ll never believe it,
there’s a story in my head
but you’ll never read it,
this modern life leaves no trace,
it’s such a waste, the crime is
you don't care to understand
anything outside your cell phone screen
your mind has been rinsed clean
with undiluted nonsense,
you're void of ingenuity,
a parody of life dances around me
this is something only I can see
you’re all part of the procession
begging for each other’s attention,
I want no part of it,
when I'm dead the monumental task
of trying to understand
the monotony of such tired machinery
would’ve meant nothing,
the words I've written
and the pulse I’ve drummed
into existence will be buried
under the compost of a million dead,
it will be as if I've never lived
