if you don't sport 

the latest trends, 

who cares 

if your hair is matted 

with 30 years of 

life's tribulations, 

followers of fashion 

don't understand 

the concept of passion

refusing to decorate yourself

in other people’s 

perceptions of wealth

is a strength many don’t possess, 

nakedness is the real you

in all its guises,  

beauty hides beneath

you can’t disguise this, 

you could cover yourself 

with shit for all I care, 

only when we're laid bare
