I Hate Maths
I am exhausted with counting one to three
forever counting one to infinity
I’ve found a million reasons
for me to stop, one million
reasons I’ve forgot,
cracking the code of a lifetime
two more digits then I’m done
I’ve carried the four with the six
multiplied three point two plus one
to find I’m back where I begun,
Pi’s got me caught in degrees,
entangled in the symmetry
of the isosceles,
it’s the same bloody lines
over and over again,
I have a cross drawn
between a square
and a hexagon,
digits & fractions
calculus distractions
I subtract in my head
use my fingers to add,
wrist watch calculators
were such a fad.
there are neither
two sides to a circle
or one side to a square,
this cube holds
relation to foundation
according to every calculation
pre-calculus
sets, logic, proofs
trigonometry
numbers and symbols
I can’t abide this antagonization
on a subject that has
no real-world application
